The following information summarises the conditions applied by UPARIS (SAS) (hereinafter referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”). For full details, please refer to our General Terms and Conditions of Sale.
1. Payment
- The total price is payable in a single payment at booking, whatever the departure date (no deposit or instalments), by bank card, WeChat Pay or bank transfer (any other method only with our prior written agreement).
- By bank card or WeChat Pay: the total amount is charged immediately.
- By bank transfer: the total amount must be received by us no later than the due date stated in the transfer instructions (5 calendar days after booking, and no later than the day before departure; from the day of departure, only card and WeChat Pay are offered); the booking is only considered paid once the full price has been received.
Bank transfer: for a SEPA transfer in euros, each party bears the fees of its own bank; for any other transfer (non-SEPA, SWIFT, currency conversion, intermediary banks), bank fees are payable by you. In all cases, the amount received by us must equal the amount due.
2. Cancellation, rescheduling and transfer
- Invitation letter (Schengen visa): €30 per letter issued, never refunded on a cancellation by the Client, whatever its date (refunded only if we cancel the Trip or in case of exceptional and unavoidable circumstances).
- Cancellation scale (excluding invitation letter fees), as a percentage of the price actually paid; days are counted on the calendar of the Trip’s time zone (Paris time for current trips) and each D-N deadline ends at midnight, local time:
| Date of cancellation | Fee |
|---|---|
| 76 days or more before departure | 0% |
| 41 to 75 days before departure | 70% |
| 41 to 75 days before departure, visa refused (consulate of the place of residence, with our documents, official refusal letter) | 50% |
| 40 days or less before departure (departure day included) / no-show | 100% |
- These termination fees are justified on request. Exceptional and unavoidable circumstances at the destination (Terms of Sale, Article 10.7): cancellation free of charge and full refund. Any refund due is made at the latest within 14 days of the cancellation.
- Loyalty points: if a booking is cancelled, whatever the cause and even without a refund, the points used are credited back to your account (within their original validity); points are valid for 2 years.
- Change of departure (rescheduling): possible to another departure of the same Trip until the start of the Trip, subject to availability and only after our written confirmation (never automatic), at the current price of the new departure (credit note and new invoice). The conditions depend on the period of the scale above, counted from the originally booked departure: 76 days or more before departure, free of charge (only the price difference is paid or refunded); 41 to 75 days before departure, only once, with a fee of €50 per Traveler, a difference in your favor being refunded up to 30%; 40 days or less before departure, only as an exception, with the same fee of €50 per Traveler and no refund of any difference. In the event of cancellation after a change, the days are counted from the earliest departure date (original or new). Details: Terms of Sale, Article 9.4.
- Transfer: possible up to and including D-7 (request received by 23:59, local time in the Trip’s time zone, on the seventh day before departure), to a person who meets the Trip’s requirements (age, health, level); administration fee of €50 per transferred Traveller (actual administrative cost, justified on request), plus the actual non-refundable costs already incurred (named and justified), for which the transferor and the transferee are jointly liable; from D-6, the booking can no longer be transferred.
3. Level, safety & supervision
Mountain activities involve inherent risks (weather, terrain, fatigue, etc.).
You commit to choosing a trip suited to your level and to having the required equipment. You must follow safety instructions and the decisions of the guides.
Passport: each Traveller’s passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the end date of the Trip (Terms of Sale, Article 13.1).
4. Insurance
No insurance is included in the price, and we do not sell any insurance.
Each Traveler must personally take out travel insurance covering the whole Trip and meeting at least the minimum legal requirements of the region where it takes place (for example, for Travelers subject to the Schengen visa: travel medical insurance of at least €30,000, valid throughout the Schengen area, covering repatriation and emergency care). We also recommend mountain search and rescue, cancellation and assistance coverage.
5. Personal data
Your data is processed to manage the booking and perform the contract. It may be shared with the accommodation providers, carriers, guides and other service providers of the Trip to ensure the smooth running of your trip.
6. WeChat group
Trip notices, the meeting point and practical exchanges before and during the Trip (weather updates, safety instructions, etc.) go through a WeChat group of each departure. Joining it is part of the service, as set out in the Terms of Sale you accept when booking (Article 5.5): every Traveller of a paid booking is invited.
We invite you to the group once the departure is confirmed to run (Terms of Sale, Article 11.1). The group’s QR code is shown on your order page in your customer account (once signed in), or on a Traveller’s personal link; each Traveller joins with their own WeChat account, and opening the QR code is recorded as their joining. A WeChat group QR code is only valid for 7 days: we renew it, and you can ask for a new one at any time from our official WeChat account uparis_outdoor or at contact@uparis.org. The group is not dissolved after the Trip; you can leave it at any time. WeChat is a third-party platform (Tencent group) subject to its own terms and its own privacy policy, which processes the data under its own responsibility and may process them outside the European Union: see our Privacy Policy.
7. No right of withdrawal
For leisure/tourism services provided on a specific date or period, there is no right of withdrawal (Article L. 221-28, 12° of the French Consumer Code).
